ScooterFood, a Brooklyn based company, is setting a new and unique trend in the canine
world
with its healthy, fresh food for dogs. In addition to being refrigerated or frozen, not canned
or dried, ScooterFood's canine cuisine uses wholesome, all-natural, human-grade ingredients.
It contains no artificial preservatives, meat by-products, or wheat/corn fillers and
concentrates on a natural protein base.
NOTE: ScooterFood sources locally as much as possible for its base ingredients and has
NOT been affected by the recent pet food recall. It is conscientious canine cuisine!
Our mission is to bring dogs everywhere homemade & healthy canine cuisine (it's cooked, not raw!) that's good
enough
for their owners to eat. So it is exceptionally pleasing to the human eye and nose. Even
better, dogs love the taste.
ScooterFood is registered with New York State as a pet food manufacturer and operates
within strict commercial kitchen guidelines. We have not applied for whole food status under
AAFCO regulations because ScooterFood's basic philosophy, and 5 formulas, is to provide dogs
all their nutrients through a varied natural diet, not through added vitamin supplements. In
addition, ScooterFood was developed with the help of a pet food consultant with 25 years in
the industry.
Current dishes include: Chicken & Vegetable, Salmon & Vegetable, Tofu &
Vegetable, Chicken
Liver with Quinoa & Vegetables and Beef Heart & Vegetable. Fresh vegetables used in
making the
food may include squash, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, collard greens, turnips, apples,
pumpkin and lima beans. And many of the ingredients are organic.
All 5 formulas will keep in the refrigerator for 8 to 10 days and in the freezer for 3 to 6
months. Just defrost in the microwave or in the refrigerator and use as a whole food or as a
topping to kibble.
ScooterSnacks, a division of ScooterFood, creates equally nutritious snacks based on the
same
wholesome ingredients along with organic spelt flour, wheat germ, brewer's yeast, steel-cut
oats and a delicious blend of raw honey and organic safflower oil.
ScooterFood is available at retail locations in both Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, North Jersey, Long Island and by mail
nationwide. It is also on the canine dining menu at New York's Benjamin Hotel
and the Soho Grand. Along with many happy clients, ScooterFood has been endorsed as an
excellent source of nutrition for dogs by prominent veterinarians.
In 2006 ScooterFood was featured in the New York Times and on TV in interviews with
Telemundo, CT12 Pet Talk, and Brooklyn News12. 2007 has brought even more high profile
coverage on the internet (Daily Kibble, ABCnews.com), TV (WABC) and in the press (AM New York,
New York Daily News, Pet Product News International.) Most exciting of all, ScooterFood is still appearing on The
Food Network.
